Henry Fowler

Henry Fowler III, was born circa 1633 in Hambleton, England. He was the son of Henry Fowler II and Anne [Annis] Knight. He went from London to America circa 1652 and settled at Roxbury, Massachusetts, and afterwards became a first settler of Privdence, Rhode Island. There he served as a Deputy to the General Assembly at Newport, Rhode Island in 1671. He was also a first patentee of Eastchester, New York and finally resided at Mamaroueck, New York. In 1655, Henry Fowler married Rebecca Newell, who was the daughter of Abrahm Newell, of Roxbury, Massachusetts.(1) The Fowlers had eight children (4 sons and 4 daughters): Henry, William, John, Jeremiah, Mary who married Richard Ward, Grace who married John Hunt, Sarah who married (1) Samuel Godwin or Godin (2) Edward Hancock, and Newell (unmarried in 1687). Henry Fowler died in 1687.(2)
